Against what am I chiefly warned?

7 spadesIn the spirit of things I decided I would do a serious reading using the Gypsy Fortune Telling Cards.

Against what am I chiefly warned?

7  Spades: Wet feet and ill-fitting shoes.

Actually, I can relate to that answer. The back of my house has very slippery tiles on the floor and I have come a cropper a couple of times with wet feet!   :o

Fun Cards!

Posted in Gypsy Cards with tags on October 11, 2009 by Kat

When I was ordering new cards the other week I thought I would get a deck of these cardsGypsy Fortune cards, just for the fun of them. They’re the Gypsy Fortune Telling Cards by Julia Parker.

They’re a re-publication of a fortune telling book written back in the 1920’s by Gypsy Rickwood.

The cards themselves are an ordinary deck of Playing Cards with nicely designed backs and come with an accompanying book.

To read the cards you ask a question, shuffle the cards, pick one; then look up the answer in the book.

Some of the answers are very ligthearted, whilst others are of a more serious note.

Apparently  the seriousness of the answer is dependent on the seriousness of your approach to the cards.

One of the questions is “Shall I be given many wedding presents?” Some of the answers are; many, but all useless;  useless, engraved silver trays, a parrot who talks fluently, you had better buy your own.

While I believe that these cards can be used in all seriousness, they also make for a very merry night’s entertainment with a group of friends and a few glasses of wine.

They would also make a delightful  present for someone. My daughter has fallen in love with these cards and will be getting a deck for xmas this year.

I, myself find these cards to be lighthearted and fun, but with a deeper, more serious side to them, should you wish to use them in a more serious vein.

DesireEcclesiasticGiftWell this draw looks nice.

Desire is about something longed for, something we desire.

Ecclesiastic : spiritual guidance, religion, spirituality, divine blessings, the Divine (Goddess, God, Universe…)

Gift: a fortunate opportunity, a gift .

Something I have been desiring is spiritually blessed. Hmmm.  Looking deeper at these cards I get the feeling that something I have been wishing for is going to manifest today. Ecclesiastic + Gift speak to me of a spiritual gift or blessing. It may be an opportunity or it may be a tangible item I have been wishing for. We can but hope!

JudgeHouseEnemy

Judge: a decision, someone in authority, weighing up the pros and cons, looking at both sides of the issue, a legal issue.

House: house, a home, family. When it falls beside certain other cards it can denote a place. With Malady it can indicate a hospital, with Merriment a hotel  and so on. With Judge it could indicate a gaol or a law court.

Enemy is enemy. Someone who doesn’t have your best interests at heart. It can also refer to the inner enemy of negative thinking and sabotage.

If it wasn’t for Enemy coming at the end I’d say the first to cards refer to a decision made about  a house but…I haven’t got a clue what these cards are refering to so I’m going to think about them. If anything eventuates I’ll let you know.

gypsy-fortune-tellerThanks to Kiki over at Tarot Dame I now have a heap of new cards on the way.  bookdepository.com has free shipping to anywhere in the world and the cards are the same price and cheaper than I can get then here for.

I got a few new Gypsy ones so I’ll have some new decks to read with.

What the…….!

I’ve been looking around with the view to ordering some new decks. What a mission that was. I find it ridiculous that they cost me more here and take  longer to deliver  than if I purchase from America.  It’s ridiculous that  it takes a company based 1 hour from where I live, longer to deliver than it takes to receive the same item from America and that even including postage, it’s cheaper. That’s if you can even get  the decks you want. I’m so not into angels and sickly sweet little faeries that carry an even more sickly sweet message.

FidelityMarriageLetter

Fidelity is about sticking with the plan. It’s about devotion, faithfulness, remaining true.  Marriage can denote marriage, but it also denotes commitment, a deeply held belief.

Letter is about communication or a message, normally the written word. It can be a newspaper, a book and so on.

This is about a couple of really boring assignments I have due. I have a time limit on them and I need to stick with it and commit myself to getting them done! I just keep putting them off…or maybe I’ll receive some news about a contract that I should keep.

Moulin Rouge Reading.

Posted in Gypsy Cards on September 8, 2009 by Kat

Every morning I head on over to visit with Kiki over at Tarot Dame.
I’ve been thinking for a while about how I’m bored with the dailies and want to change things a bit. Lo and behold Kiki has decided the same thing. It’s strange, but what she is going through in her life mirrors mine. Anyway she had done The Moulin Rouge Spread and I found it really intersting. It’s a great spread and as it’s relevant to what I’m going through I thought I would see how it works with the Gypsies.

Card 1 is Truth. What needs to be acknowledged
Card 2 is Beauty. Something to be in awe of
Card 3 is Freedom. What you need to set free
Card 4 is Love. What should be embraced

Judge MoneyMaladyWidow

Judge is about weighing up the pros and cons, decision making, justice, legalities, authority. Obviously there is some aspect of Judge that I need to acknowledge in my life and because I’m not acknowledging it, he’s stalking me! I’m going to have to think on this some more. I haven’t got a clue what it is.

The beauty I need to see is Money. I need to be in awe of this. Money is money, abundance, opportunities. Money is also a form of energy. Soooo….I need to see the beauty in the fact that I don’t have any, or in awe because I’m gonna get some…last one I hope. Seriously though, I think that Money has a much deeper meaning here. Another one I’ll have to think on!

Malady is what I need to let go………

I just had an epiphany when I was thinking about the malady card!

Judge represents a decision I made in regard to positive thinking and I need to acknowledge it and take notice of it. Honour it.
Money is energy. Money is also positive. It’s also about creating and I need to find the beauty and be in awe of this energy that can be used in such a positive way.
Malady is about sickness, about dis-ease, negativity. I need to let go of any negativity, anything that causes me to be “sick”.
Widow is what I need to embrace. At first I thought it meant being alone but then I realised that it is talking about embracing my intuitive side and the need to go within more.

Wow! That was rather difficult. Apart from Wordress deciding it doesn’t want to work this morning, these cards have many layers to them and the danger in not looking deeper and only using them at face value is that you’ll miss the underlying message.
